Lugari Member of Parliament elect, Nabii Daraja Nabwera has called upon his competitors in the last election to come together and give him an opportunity to serve the people of Lugari so as to realize development by establishing and strategizing essential projects that would be of more positive impact to the lives of the locals.
Speaking to West Media, Nabwera emphasized on the need for the leaders who failed in the past elections to concede and continue embracing peace and give the elected leaders an opportunity to effectively serve the citizens.
He emerged the winner among the 11 other candidates who were eyeing the parliamentary seat after garnering 23,159 votes followed by his close competitor Isaac Andabwa who had 11,086 votes. The results of the 12 candidates were as follows;
Agonya Edgar 814 votes, Andabwa Isaac 11,086 votes, Atingo Alex 6,008 votes, Lihanda Patric 580 votes, Lisech Brian 5,162 votes, Luchivya Lutomia 255votes, Nabii Nabwera Daraja 23,159 votes, Obura Joseph1,329 votes, Omaya Jairus 1,434 votes, Otindo Phelomon 375 votes, Shitanda Namiti 480 votes and Punga Charles 1,042 votes. The total votes cast were 51,829, with 904 rejected votes and the total number of registered voters in Lugari Constituency being 86,908.
Nabwera appreciated the positive impact the media houses across the nation have had to the Kenyans as far as passing the messages of peace and fair coverage that was unbiased and thanked security team across the country for ensuring there was measures to enhance security before, after and during the general elections.
In his development agenda, the MP elect noted that he would always use public participation to seek views from locals in Lugari before coming up with any project among measures to avoid misuse of public funds.
