Politicians in Lugari Sub County have been urged to stop meddling in development programs but instead cooperate and support all development activities in the area regardless of their political affiliations.
Addressing residents in his ward, Chekalini member of county assembly Kenneth Indusa said it was disappointing to note that a section of the political class was engaged in undermining development projects initiated by both the national and county government on grounds that they do not support some of the current office holders.
He said it hurts to see leaders engage in premature divisive politics for their own benefits as majority of residents continue to suffer. “It is disgusting to see how majority of our people suffer on daily basis while individuals who are supposed to help improve their livelihoods keep politicking,” said Indusa.
Indusa urged residents to make proper use of all leaders and benefit from them when they are still in power.
“There’s nothing wrong if I invited deputy president Dr. William Ruto to come and help my people here in Chekalini because if we don’t benefit from him when he is still in office there is no other time we will benefit when out of that officer. Why should other region continue benefiting as we continue politicking just because of political party differences?” paused Indusa.
He said party politics should end immediately after elections and leaders put aside their differences and together embark on development programs.
The MCA expressed his disappointment by utterances from a section of leaders from the sub county who were criticizing his recent invitation of Kakamega county deputy governor Prof. Philip Kutima for a fund drive in aid of Itumbu primary school in his ward.
“It sounds funny that some leaders are accusing me for bringing deputy governor here to help Itumbu primary school. Does it mean it is a crime for deputy governor to come to Chekalini?”
Indusa has promised to continue working closely with other development conscious leaders to help residents of his ward.
