Lugari Sub County residents have been warned against brewing and consumption of the outlawed liquor.
The area Police Commander Bernard Ngungu has warned that police will continue cracking down on chang’aa dens within the Sub-County which ruined lives of many youths and families.
He revealed that police have arrested several owners of chang’aa dens in Soweto village, Munyuki Location whom he blamed for encouraging of brewing and consumption of outlawed elicit brew.
Police Commander noted that he was working closely with government security networks to ensure such drinking dens do not ruin the lives of the youths and families. He said police were investigating if such drinking joints were harboring hard drug dealers.
Ngungu has however called on Lugari residents to work closely with the security agencies to ensure peace prevails in Lugari ahead of the General Elections.
“It is our collective responsibility to ensure this Sub-County maintains the peace we are enjoying, before, during and after August General Elections,” said Ngungu
