Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has launched a scathing attack on Sirisia MP John Waluke, accusing the legislator of engaging in divisive and counterproductive politics at the expense of meaningful development.
Speaking in Lwandanyi Ward during the handover of sports equipment at Malakisi A.C.K. Primary School, Governor Lusaka expressed dismay over what he described as “petty and malicious politics” allegedly fueled by the MP. The governor urged leaders to rise above personal interests and focus on delivering services to the electorate.
“We are all elected to serve our people,” Lusaka said. “It is unfortunate that instead of championing development, some leaders have resorted to spreading misinformation and engaging in populist rhetoric that only divides communities.”
The governor’s remarks follow a string of public criticisms from MP Waluke, who has recently accused the county administration of corruption and inefficiency. Lusaka dismissed the allegations as baseless and politically driven, maintaining that his government remains committed to transparency and development.
He emphasized the importance of unity among elected officials, especially during a period of economic strain and growing public demands.
“We cannot afford to be distracted by political theatrics,” he said. “The people of Bungoma deserve focused leadership and tangible results—not endless blame games.”
Governor Lusaka concluded by calling on all leaders to uphold their mandates and work collectively to uplift the lives of their constituents.
