Bungoma County Governor Kenneth Lusaka has stood by his decision to dissolve the New Ford Kenya party to join Jubilee saying it will help spur more development programs in the county for the benefit of the residents.
Addressing a congregation at his home church, the Anglican church of Kenya Mapera, in Kamukuywa ward, Lusaka said it is only through a mutual relationship with the government that already some of the big development projects have already been initiated and more are still in the pipeline.
He said that when President Kenyatta came for his homecoming ceremony at Mapera primary a number of issues were raised including awarding a charter to Kibabii university and it came to be saying the president being the first chancellor, is set to grace its first graduation ceremony in November.
He further disclosed that the issue of reviving Pan Paper factory was also raised and it will soon be re opened after an investor purchased it and saying the president will also be coming to Bungoma County for its re-opening.
Governor Lusaka added that tarmacking of the Chwele Lwakhakha road was also requested and the Chinese contractors are already on the site for the road construction saying it will help ease transportation up to the neighboring country of Uganda.
He, therefore, said to be able to negotiate for more development projects it was necessary for the party to be dissolved to join the Jubilee party so as to have the muscle to negotiate saying they will be part of the government.
On his part, Kenya revenue authority director Evans Kakai called upon residents of Bungoma County to support Governor Lusaka in his re-election bid so as to finish up the various development projects he has initiated across the county.
He added that he has interacted with other aspirants for the same seat in Bungoma County saying they lack a proper development agenda for the County saying many of them are only interested in the amount of money that the County receives.
Kimilili politician Didymus Wekesa Barasa called upon the electorates to be keen while electing their representatives in the next election saying they are in need of proper leadership that will be able to perform their duties well to spur development.
He further asked them to ensure they register as voters to enable them to participate in the forthcoming general election.
