Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has promised to take care of insecurity issues affecting residents of Webuye Town. Lusaka who was responding to insecurity complaints while addressing boda boda riders from Webuye East and Webuye West Sub Counties, said he will convene a meeting with all security stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the problem, given that people are being attacked every day.
“I have heard all your complaints concerning insecurity witnessed in Webuye Town recently, and mostly affecting boda boda sector. We shall sit down with all the officers concerned and see the best way we can curb this vice,” said Lusaka.
Initially boda boda operators through their chairman had complained that they had lost many of their friends due to insecurity “We have lost many of our friends who work hard to fend for their families, yet some have died very horrible deaths and therefore we appeal to the government to work hard and invest a lot in security,” said the boda boda chairman.
They also asked the governor to intervene and encourage the H-YOUNG company renovating the highway road from Webuye towards Bungoma to make sure they put the bumps on the road, saying there have been a lot of road accidents.
As he responded to the emerging issues, Lusaka promised to work closely with the leaders of the sector so that they can better boda bodas.
He, however, asked them to support his government saying he may have made mistakes as but there are a lot of milestones he has achieved since he became governor.
“All of us know how the county was when I took over and am sure we have made an impact, especially when it comes to the feeder roads which you people use in most cases. If you support my government in the upcoming elections am sure we shall make Bungoma the best place to be,” said Lusaka.
He urged them to support the Jubilee party in the next election saying it’s the party that will scoop the nation’s leadership and people should not miss.
He added the under the Jubilee government, a lot has been achieved, including efforts to revive Panpaper Mills.
