Bungoma County Governor Kenneth Makelo Lusaka led the County officials and MCAs in the launching of the Deputy Governor’s residence in Webuye town within Maraka ward.
Addressing residents of Webuye town during the launch, Lusaka said doing so was to make sure that people get services closer and added that it will enhance service delivery and on time.
He called on the contractor to make sure that residents of Webuye get jobs during the construction as he told him to ensure that he completes the construction on time so that the Deputy Governor can start working from there.
Lusaka had goodies for the people of Maraka ward adding that in the next appointments of Chief Officers, he will make sure that Maraka ward gets a slot and the County Secretary slot is reserved for Webuye East Constituency too as he assured them that he will be appointing more Webuye East residents in other sectors as giving back to them for supporting him during the last general elections.
The County chief also said the Webuye Municipality which will now enjoy shs 200m World Bank funding will greatly open up the economy of Webuye apart from creating job opportunities and asked CEC concerned to constitute a tentative management committee of Webuye Municipality and that of Chwele to start working on the same.
On her part, the Deputy Governor Jenifer Mbatiany who accompanied her boss also echoed the idea of using the residents especially youths and women so that this can ensure circulation of money in Webuye and make sure that they own the project and added that they are not doing this for her or the Governor but all those who will come after them so that people can get services closer to them.

Mzee Patrick Kisaka a former Webuye Mayor welcomed the idea and encouraged Bungoma County residents to support the County government and their development projects saying fighting those in leadership will derail development.
The MCAs who accompanied the Governor led by the area MCA Ali Machani Mutoka agreed unanimously to support the Governor and his leadership for the sake of development.
