Malaba Border Riders Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Limited has realized its dreams by procuring an eight-seater matatu commonly known as ‘Nguruwe’.
The purchase of the Vaneti new model matatu came about a few months after Teso North MP Oku Kaunya and his Nyakach counterpart Aduma Owuor presided over a funds drive for the Sacco members also attended by Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong that helped raise Kshs 1.1million.
The Sacco members converged at the Malaba Outreach Baptist Church in Malaba to have the matatu blessed before it joins the Bungoma Trans Sacco fleet of matatus.
The Sacco chairman John Orono Odot thanked leaders who made their dreams of owning a matatu come to fruition, noting that that is just the beginning of good things to come.
He challenged the youth to take advantage of their age to invest in areas they have comparative advantage instead of waiting until they grow old which will become a pipe dream.
Dr. Anthony Opacha of the Baptist Outreach Church told the youth to put God first in everything they do to realize their cherished goals.
