Residents of the newly created Malaba Municipality and its environs in Busia County have been urged to remain calm as security apparatus continue their man hunt on suspects who continue to terrorize wananchi especially during night hours.
Malaba Central Member of the County Assembly Bernard Ibella Papa has urged the police to crack down on the suspects who have been giving residents sleep less nights for weeks now.
The suspects are said to be using unknown substances that make their victims dose off before stealing from them. They’re said to be targeting a myriad range of valuables including smart TV sets ,radios, smart phones among others.
‘ I have received a number of complaints from Malaba Central Ward residents that they have lost and continue to lose their valuables through suspects that continue to roam around with impunity.” “I therefore urge the security apparatus in the region to move with speed and arrest the suspects before things turn worse.” He said.
Just recently, a security guard at St. Augustine Kamolo Secondary school in the neighboring Malaba South Ward was left for dead after thugs broke into the school stealing a TV set, a projector and two computers.
Papa was speaking in his ward while presenting iron sheets to needy families to help them upgrade from grass thatched houses to modern ones.
