Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has accused the police of being used by mean people in the government to frustrate some leaders in the country.
He was speaking at Mbale market after the police guarded the entry to Idavaga Secondary School in Vihiga County, the venue where he had organised a youth forum on Saturday.
He said the Mulembe Youth Movement forum was an educative one where guests from financial institutions had been invited to talk to the youth on the importance of taking loans and starting businesses to empower themselves.
The Senator slammed the top security bosses in Vihiga for being used to stop such a forum to commence, adding that they must act with integrity.
Malala later went and addressed the locals at the market before being joined by Amani National Congress leader Musalia Mudavadi.
Mudavadi used the occasion to address the massive corruption in the government, reiterating that the vice must be dealt with and the culprits prosecuted.
