Man commits suicide in Sitikho, Webuye West

The reason for the suicide is still unknown

A somber mood has engulfed Ndakaru village in Sitikho sub-location in Webuye West constituency after a 76-year-old man committed suicide under unclear circumstances.

Speaking to West Media, area assistant chief John Wafula Murutu stated that the late Stephen Masinde Mukhoma who disappeared from his home in 1976 came back last week and was warmly received by his family members only to be found dead on Tuesday morning. He had strangled himself to death.

The reason why he committed suicide has not been established and an investigation is underway. “It was today at 7am in Ndakaru village when the man’s sister-in-law found his body. He had committed suicide, using his shirt,” stated Murutu.
