A middle aged man appeared before the Kapenguria law court accused of defiling a nine year old girl.
Amos Tulel was accused of committing the act on 3rd, June 2016, in Chepareria sub location of West Pokot County.
He was accused of intentionally an unlawfully having sexual penetration with the minor, an act that is contrary to section 8(1) of sexual offences Act 3 of 2006.

According to witnesses the accused committed the act intentionally and forcefully and in the process caused great damage to the complainant private body parts and great mental trauma.
The accused pleaded not guilty before the resident magistrate, Phoebe Kulecho and was released on a bond of Ksh. 500,000 with surety of similar amount.
However the accused was unable to raise the said amount.
The magistrate ordered the accused to remain in custody at Kapenguria G.K prison and the hearing will continue on 24th, June 2016.
