A sorrowful cloud hang over Majengo B village in Lumakanda location Lugari Sub-County after a middle aged man died while at a local liquor den where he had gone to take the brew.
Confirming the incident Mwamba sub location assistant chief Edwin Nashirobe said the deceased, Fred Simiyu Mwonja, is suspected to have taken a lot of the illicit brew leading to his death.
He said the deceased’s body which had no injuries was found in the compound of Mr. Wycliffe Lwenya, a local brewer.
However, the brewer denied selling the brew to the deceased arguing that he entered his compound while already drunk.
The assistant chief has issued a stern warning against consumption of outlawed drinks and has vowed to beef up government’s efforts against the vice in the area.
Police officers from Lumakanda station removed the body and took it to Chebaiywa mortuary in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu County for postmortem.
