A middle aged man from Soysambu village in Kongoni location Likuyani Sub County is crying for justice after his friends tried to castrate him using a pliers and left him with serious injuries.
Speaking to West Media , Amos Okenyi, who is a boda boda operator, narrated how his friend Hillary Kipkurui lured him into his house before attacking him with the help of other two friends.
He said Kipkurui went to their home pretending that he wanted his help to sell beans.
“He came to our home where we took breakfast together before he requested that I sell beans for him. I innocently accompanied him to their home to pick the beans, not knowing his plans,” said Okenyi.
He said once he entered Kipkurui’s house, he kicked him from behind and shoved him to the floor. He then accused him of stealing his phone before two other men who were hiding inside the house emerged with ropes, tied him on the chair with hands at the back and set upon him with kicks and blows.
“One of the men was beating me mercilessly, as the other tore my shirt and stuffed pieces in my mouth while Kipkurui was busy tearing my trouser and pressing my private parts with a pliers,” explained Okenyi.
He said his cry for innocence fell on deaf ears as the three friends continued assaulting him leaving him unconscious.
He later regained consciousness to find he had been left alone in the house and managed to untie himself before he escaped into the nearby maize plantation and staggered his way home.
He was rushed to Kongoni health center before being referred to Matunda sub county hospital where he received First Aid and later referred to Kitale General Hospital. X-Ray images revealed he sustained serious injuries.
Angry residents who learnt of the incident managed to arrest Kipkurui and handed him to Mawe Tatu police post where he was released and hours later went into hiding.
“After leaving the hospital, I found the suspect already released by the police and he had gone into hiding,” said Okenyi who denied taking Kipkurui’s phone.
The family led by his 85 year old grandmother Resper Mudogo together with his aunt Grace Iminza have appealed for justice.
“I don’t know if my grandson will ever get children because these people caused him serious injuries on his private parts,” said the granny adding that her grandson has been helping her with food and other provisions.
“There are plans to deny my nephew justice, we are appealing to the government and human rights organizations to intervene to ensure the suspects are brought to book,” said Ms Iminza.
