A 20-year-old man was killed by unknown people and his body dumped near a chief’s office at Ojamii estate in the outskirts of Busia town.

The body of the man only identified as Otis was found on Wednesday by locals near the chief’s office with severe injuries induced by a panga on his head and knife marks on the neck, “This incident has really you shocked us because this is a young man who washes vehicles at Busia bus park and who is always social with everyone.”

Sources intimated that the deceased was in the company of his friends that night, who claimed he was attacked by robbers although their accounts were contradictory.

The locals have also decried increasing insecurity in the estate which has left scores injured and property of unknown amount stolen from shops and households,“We have been complaining of insecurity in this estate for a long time but no one has heard us. Thugs breaking into shops and houses has become the order of the day here and many people have also been injured, now today a young man has been killed near a chief’s office. Why can’t the government even deploy some police officers at the chief’s office so that they help boost security in this area?”
