Man lynched and body burnt by mob in Bumula over theft

A man has been killed and his body set ablaze by an angry mob in Lutaso ‘A’ village, Bumula Ward, Bumula Constituency, on suspicion of theft.

Confirming the incident, Choke ‘A’ village elder Martin Wanyonyi Lubekho stated that the deceased had been a persistent nuisance to residents in the area due to theft incidents, and their efforts to apprehend him had been futile.

Wanyonyi added that the deceased, identified as Vincent Mukhebi, had just returned home after completing a jail term for theft offenses.
