Man slices colleague’s leg using power saw
Security officers in Lugari Sub County are investigating an incident in which a 41 years old man was seriously injured after a friend sliced one of his legs using a power saw following a disagreement between them.
Confirming the incident, Lugari location chief Evans Adavaji said the incident occurred in Lugari forest when the victim, Mr. Hillary Kiprono exchanged bitter words with his workmate, Mr. David Kibos, aged 40, before the latter used the power saw, which they were using to fell trees and inflicted a deep cut on the former’s left leg.

“Acting on distress calls from loggers who were in the forest, police officers at Lumakanda station rushed to the scene where they rescued and rushed the victim to Lugari Sub County Hospital,” said Adavaji, adding the assaulter was seriously beaten by the loggers.
“He was, however, saved by the police officers who rushed him to the hospital alongside the assaulted victim,” added chief Adavaji.
Due to the magnitude of the injury, which health officers at the sub county hospital could not handle properly for lack of equipment, the victim was transferred to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
Kibos is in police custody waiting to be arraigned in court once security officers conclude investigations into the incident.
