Police in Likuyani are holding in custody a 27 year old man for killing his wife in Binyenya village, Mois Bridge sub location Sunday night.
Confirming the incident Moi’s Bridge sub location assistant chief Maurice Mukopi said the suspect Ambrose Nyongesa killed his wife Daisy Chepkurui by strangling her to death.
He said after committing the murder, Nyongesa surrendered himself to Matunda police station where he is being held.
The local administrator said the reason behind the murder has not been established, adding that the couple had just stayed together for five months only after marrying each other in March this year.
The body was removed from the scene by officers from Matunda police station and taken to Kitale hospital mortuary as they launched investigations into the incident.
