The Constitution and Reform Education Consortium (CRECO) has asked the president to take legal action against Uasin Gishu governor Jackson Mandago and his counterpart Alex Tolgos. The two governors were condemned for criticizing the appointment of Laban Ayiro as the new VC of Moi University. They wanted Isaac Kosgey to be appointed as the Vice-Chancellor. The Executive Director of Mzalendo Trust Mrs. Jessica Musila said the two should be dealt with. She urged the Ministry of Education to be keen with ethical guides to help solve the negative traits of tribalism, nepotism, and corruption in universities.

The Executive Director further said Kenyans should vote for leaders who know the structure of laws and to be keen when it comes to leaders who aren’t aware of the constitution, adding that all politicians that preach hatred in the country should be persecuted by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission.

CRECO Deputy Director Mr. Joshua K. Changuony said that the two governors acted like that just to get votes for the upcoming elections. He said learning institutions are centers of knowledge globally and shouldn’t be localized in any way. He also reminded them that Uasin Gishu County is a cosmopolitan region, where everyone should enjoy his or her rights, he also urged citizens to safeguard the peace of the country.
