The body of a 41 year old man was discovered decomposing in his house after he was killed by unknown assailants who locked the body inside his house in Kilimani village, Seregeya sub location, Likuyani Sub County.
According to the deceased’s uncle Mr. Reuben Mielizu, his nephew Heston Kihutsi Jaica was strangled to death by unknown people who then locked the door from inside and escaped through the window after robbing him cash.
“They strangled him using a tablecloth which they removed from his table and we found it still wrapped around his neck. After the murder they locked the door from inside and escaped through the window,” said Mr. Mielizu.
Confirming the incident Seregeya sub location assistant chief Moses Wanjala Shivina said the deceased moved in the area recently after selling his piece of land in Munyama village, Lumakanda location in the neighbouring Lugari Sub County.
He said neighbours became suspicious after failing to see him for about three days prompting one of them to go and check on him but he found the door locked from inside. On pushing one of the windows he was shocked to see a lifeless body lying on the bed with an odorous smell coming from it.
The local administrator said the deceased still had some cash from the sell of the land which is believed to be the target of his killers.
Officers from the DCI department have launched investigations into the incident with the an aim of apprehending the suspects. The body was removed and taken to Kimbilio mortuary in the neighbouring Uasin Gishu County.
