Kenyans are mourning the death of a renowned artist from the coastal region.
Ally B, whose real name is Ali Khamisi Mwaliguli, died after a short illness. it is reported that Ali B had been diagnosed one week back from Pneumonia complication and had been discharged.
On 1st November 2023 he developed complications and passed on while being rushed to hospital.
Ally B was one of the biggest artists in Kenya in the early 2000s. His sudden passing on has left many Kenyans who were familiar with his music flavor in total shock. His super hits and energetic performance will automatically be missed by many.
Amongst those who sent their message of condolences included
President Dr. William Ruto who described the fallen artist as a musician who fostered unity in the community.
“I join the music fraternity in mourning the passing of Ally B, a musician who harnessed his talent to foster unity and harmony in our society,” Ruto said.
The speaker of the senate did send his condolence message saying he was a talented artist.
“I convey my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and fans of Ally B, who passed on today in Mombasa. Ally B was a talented artiste whose music featured prominently in the entertainment landscape both at the Coast, across Kenya and beyond our borders.”
Th Prime Cabinet Secretary who is also the CS for Foreign Affairs Musalia Mudavadi was not left behind in mourning the fallen music legend. On his social media handle he wrote,
Deeply saddened to hear about the untimely loss of ALLY B KHAMISI. The Coastal region and indeed the country has lost a vibrant and talented musician whose passion and creativity touched the hearts of many. His contribution to elevating the Mijikenda culture through his music is invaluable and will be remembered forever. I particularly loved his KADZO hit song and the message therein. My thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends, and fans during this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace. .
Ally B was well known for big hits like MARIA and BEMBEA amongst others songs.
Shortly after exiting the music scene, Ally B joined politics. In 2017,he tried running for a ward representative seat in Junda Ward in Kisauni, Mombasa County under a Jubilee Party ticket in 2017.
