Citizen TV journalist Jacque Maribe has been granted bail by the court while her fiance Joesph Irungu has been denied bail in the Monica Kimani murder case. Maribe has been released on a cash bail of Kshs 1 million and she has been barred from reading the news during the trial period.
Justcie James Wakiaga ruled that ‘Jowie’ Irungu might intimidate witnesses and his previous record with guns poses an intimidation risk and hostility from witnesses. Irungu will remain in custody until the murder case is concluded. Moreover, Justice Wakiaga noted that the prosecution didn’t prove that Jacque is a flight risk or is likely to abscond court appearance.
