Masinde Muliro university students, Kapsabet branch protests move to close the institution

Masinde Muliro University of science and technology Kapsabet branch students have protested the move by the institution administration to close the campus on grounds of numbers saying currently they are doing their examinations and the university cannot just make decisions without involving them.

Speaking to the press during their protest the student leaders cited that the institution decision did not involve them as the major stakeholders and as students have just received the news with shock and desperation.  They revealed that the institution is facing several crisis including rent arrears and other problems citing that they cant just close the school that way when students are in progress.

“We have quorum, we are over two hundred students and the institution should hear us.” They chorused in unison. Kapsabet ward MCA Hon Fredrick Kipkemboi blamed the institution administration for such orders saying as leaders they wont allow such an institution to close without any concrete reasons behind the closure citing poor leadership.

He added that for Kapsabet town to grow and expand its territories, investors should invest in such institutions saying there are many colleges in town and closure of it will affect the growing of Kapsabet at large thus as Nandi Ieaders they should look into it.

“Where will our continuing students go if the institution has decided to close any how yet they have invested a lot in the institution” He roared.  Efforts by members of the fourth estate to reach to the college administration proved them futile after they remained adamant on the issue.
