Residents of Mautuma location, Lugari Sub County are in shock following the death of a 41-year-old carpenter. Mautuma location chief, Mrs. Pamela Davava Kulali confirmed the incident when she spoke to members of the press on Friday. “The body of Arthur Khayumbi was found inside his rented house at Tairi Mbili trading centre on Thursday evening,” reported Mrs. Davava.
According to the chief, it was the deceased workmates at their Pan Paper workshop who broke into the house before they found his lifeless body on the bed. “His colleagues were disturbed when he failed to show up on Thursday morning. Later in the day they embarked on a search for him after attempts to trace him through his mobile phone bore no fruits,
and it was unanswered,” said Mrs. Davava.
According to his employer, Mr. Timothy Ishuga, the deceased left the place of work on Wednesday evening in good health.
“Though preliminary investigations indicate his death maybe as a result of an unknown disease because there were tablets next to his body,” noted Ishuga, disclosing the deceased was a resident of Kipsangui village in the neighbouring Likuyani sub county.
Security organs have launched investigations into the death. The local administrator appealed the locals to remain calm pending the outcome of the investigations.
The body was removed to Kimbilio Funeral Home (Chebaiywa) in Uasin Gishu County.
