Message of unity and harmony among Bungoma leaders and not prioritising their parties to achieve development for the Bungoma residents dominated the thanksgiving event of Kimaeti Ward MCA Jack Wambulwa at Bukirimo primary school in Bumula Constituency.
The event led by Bumula Member of Parliament Jack Wamboka, urged fellow leaders to advocate for the people and to abandon the habit of worshipping selfish leaders, emphasizing that Bumula as a Constituency has been neglected for a long time.
Jack Wambulwa, also the Chairman of the Bumula Ward Representatives, urged leaders in Western Kenya to respect the Speaker of the National Assembly, a sentiment echoed by other leaders who emphasized the importance of unity among them.
He thanked all leaders and Kimaeti ward residents for turning up in large numbers for the occasion.
He said he is working with the area MP who was elected on DAP-K for the benefit of Bumula residents and told off the naysayers about their relationship revealing that the area MP has a good plan for Bumula saying his initiative of giving dairy cows is on course, as it was started at Khasoko ward and all wards will benefit.
Bumula MP Jack Wamboka told Bumula people that when elections will come as leaders they will give direction on which way to take since most leaders have been using Bumula to get votes and leave them without even a single appointment.
He applauded Kimaeti residents for electing an outgoing leader not only in Kimaeti but also in the County as a chair of the Budget Committee.
He said they came together as elected leaders in the Constituency to initiate development projects for their people.
The unity they have as leaders has seen them implement projects adding that they have more others in store for the benefit of residents urging Bumula residents to support them too.
He said time has come where truth should be told citing political party’s nominations where they only nominate MCAs from other areas and leaving out Bumula.
He urged the Speaker of the National Assembly to approve his impeachment motion against Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi he forwarded in his office so that he presents it on the floor of the house over the fake fertilizer scandal.
Bungoma County Woman Rep Catherine Wambilianga said she is on course to rescue young mothers who dropped out of school due to teenage pregnancies by returning them to schools to complete their education.
Namwela ward MCA Charles Nangulu echoed the sentiments of Bumula MP about Kimaeti MCA as a hardworking leader as his vice chair on the Budget Committee in the County Assembly.
He urged leaders to work together despite their political parties’ differences as his Siboti ward counterpart Orize Wanjala Kundu appreciated Kimaeti ward residents for electing such a hardworking leader with vision saying they won’t regret having him as their MCA.
He insisted on the unity they are having with the area MP highlighting how he is helping residents across Bungoma County. He critiqued Woman Rep Catherine Wambilianga saying as Siboti ward residents have never seen any support from Affirmative Action kit.
He wondered why top leaders don’t share nomination slots equally citing how Ford Kenya made nominations from other Constituencies and left out Bumula same to UDA which he said nominated MCAs outside Bungoma County.
He said by all means during the 2027 election Bungoma South must produce a Governor.
West Nalondo MCA Polycarp Wandabusi said Bumula MP has been a strong supporter of FK and more so a member telling him to come back home when time comes.
He appreciated him for walking around the County with MCAs by empowering the people of Bungoma as his Matulo ward counterpart Stephen Kaiser told leaders to respect the National Assembly Speaker for he is the one the region is looking upon.
South Bukusu MCA Sudi Kalasinga who is also a deputy majority leader in the County Assembly said Bumula residents who are in FK and other parties have been sidelined, despite fighting for FK they didn’t get a single nomination and yet they qualified for two slots.
He also said that as UDA they made a mistake for nominating leaders from outside the County saying they tried blocking the nomination by Siboti ward MCA in vain, saying nomination is a resource therefore won’t sit aside and see parties frustrate Bumula people adding that even Bumula qualified for a single DAP -K nomination but got none.
He insisted on the respect of the National Assembly Speaker since he is the only top leader that Bungoma has, therefore should take pride in him.
Musikoma MCA Makari told Woman Rep to put in efforts so that she is felt on the ground across the County to avoid complaints like what was experienced in Bumula.
The function saw more than 20 MCAs, County officials , national leaders and hundreds of Kimaeti ward residents attend.
