The business community on Brigadier market are counting losses after fire broke out yesterday night.
According to the Chairmairm of the Market Mr. Vincent Wanjala Wasike, the fire broke after a gas cylinder explosion from one of the shops in the market.
The fire razed down more than eight shops and stalls running into millions of shillings.
It took several hours before the firefighters could arrive at the scene to save the situation from worsening.
The business community has urged the national government to ensure roads in the area are in good condition with an argument that it took hours before the firefighter vehicle could arrive at the scene due to the poor condition of Kiminini Brigadier road. They have also asked the leadership of the county to consider having fireghter vehicles in every sub County.
Some of the business people affected have urged the County Government to cheap in and help them out of the big losses claiming most of them had taken loans which are still servicing.
