Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology has been closed indefinitely. The MMUST students held protests and engaged the police in running battles on Wednesday morning as they tried to restore order along the Kisumu-Webuye highway.

Among the pertinent issues the students were demonstrating against is the unprecedented fee payment deadline that was slated for 27th of this month, internet breakdown hence delay in upload and disappearance of marks on portals, gross harassment of students at the finance department and the violation of the MMUSO constitution 2017 by the administration.
