Thousands of graduands were conferred with Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates as the Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology marked its 14th graduation ceremony at the MMUST graduation square in Kakamega, led its chancellor Dr. Peter Muthoka.
Addressing the graduands, the chancellor advised them to utilize the knowledge and skills that they have acquired to fit themselves in the job market. He said that with the University’s goals and objectives, all the graduands are in a position to either get employment or figure out ways of becoming self employed.
He further called upon the County governments that are closer to the University to make use of the technology and research from the Institute to benefit the society. He said that through collaboration with the University, the Counties will be in a position to enrich their current programmes and projects.
He applauded the Senate’s Mwongozo-the board of governance-for state cooperation that was initiated in 2015 to ensure that public Institutes are effectively run and managed and called upon the University’s leadership to emulate them in ensuring that there is accountability, integrity, professionalism, transparency, innovation among others as they are values that encourages institutions to grow.
