Pokot South MP David Pkossing has castigated the so-called dynasties in Kenya for using corruption as escapism to gain political mileage for the 2022 presidential race. He has said that the fight against graft is driven by 2022 politics, and political dynasties are planning and scheming on how to scuttle Deputy President William Ruto’s Presidential aspirations. Pkossing said that Deputy President William Ruto’s competitors are trying to malign his name ahead of the 2022 elections so that they can take over the country’s top job.
Speaking during a church service at Nasokol AIC Church in Kapenguria, the legislator who is a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto said the recent meeting between ODM leader Raila Odinga and KANU chairman Gideon Moi was the genesis of claims on corruption at Kimwarer Dam. “The talk about Kimwarer started at the hotel where the duo met,” he said. The MP called on the National Intelligence Service (NIS) to investigate what transpired when the two leaders met.
Furthermore, he said that the graft war has been politicized, where certain communities are targeted and that the 2022 succession race will be a competition between the rich and the poor. “Dynasties and sons of the rich don’t want a son of a peasant or hustler to be the President of Kenya,” he said. He added that some politicians are hiding in the graft war, and are causing discontent in President Kenyatta’s government by bringing division and targeting certain people from the Kalenjin community, who are being used as sacrificial lambs.
He pointed out that the DCI and EACC are being used to achieve a political end instead of focusing on the tasks to grapple with corruption. Pkossing noted that some people aren’t pleased with Jubilee’s Big Four Agenda and that’s why they are disguising their dislike behind the corruption war.
