A significant transformation is on the horizon for Lukusi dispensary in Mihuu Ward, through a collaborative effort between local leadership and the National Ministry of Health. Area MP Martin Pepela Wanyonyi has announced a substantial allocation of thirty million shillings aimed at enhancing the hospital’s infrastructure, ensuring residents receive the quality healthcare they deserve.
During a recent visit to the health facility, Wanyonyi emphasized the importance of accessible healthcare, stating, “Despite the devolution of health services, the government must step up to provide adequate facilities for our people.” He highlighted that, in addition to Lukusi, Sinoko dispensary in Ndivisi Ward will receive fifty million shillings, while Lurare dispensary in Maraka Ward is also expected to benefit from funding. This comprehensive initiative reflects a commitment to improving health outcomes across the constituency.
However, Wanyonyi didn’t mince words when he criticized the Bungoma County government for its failure to return an ambulance to Sinoko dispensary, calling for accountability from ward representatives and county officials. “It’s high time they take responsibility,” he asserted.
Officials from the Ministry of Health, led by Engineer Anthony Kihondo, assured the community that these infrastructure upgrades would elevate the hospital’s status. They urged residents to rally together during the upcoming construction phase, emphasizing that teamwork will be key to success.
In a show of solidarity, residents, led by Kennedy Murule, the chief of Lukusi sub-location, pledged to resolve land issues essential for the hospital’s development. The hospital’s administrator expressed heartfelt gratitude to the MP for fulfilling his promise, underscoring a collective hope for a healthier future.
