Webuye West Member of Parliament Dan Wanyama has given a cheque of Kshs 500,000 to Milo Boys Friends Secondary School to renovate the dormitory that was razed by fire, which led to the closure of the school for a week.
While giving the cheque, Wanyama urged the administration of the school to quicken the renovation process, “I have come to this school because of the fire that razed the dormitory, as the region MP I think students should not go through difficulties when they want to sleep,” he said, “I’ve come to find a solution together with the school’s administration.” He cited that he was present after the fire incident, adding that the money he had given is specifically meant for renovation.
He lauded the Bungoma County government for intervening quickly and buying uniforms, and bedding for the affected students.
MP Wanyama used that chance to urge Webuye West residents who have not registered as voters to do so before the voter registration exercise ends.
“For those of you that have not registered as voters, remember we have little time remaining. We are only remaining with a week to the end of voter registration exercise, therefore, make a move and register before the exercise ends,” reiterated Wanyama.
