ANC party leader Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula have suspended their meetings as Coronavirus infections continue rising. The Mudavadi-Wetangula team comprising of several leaders have been holding meetings geared towards solidifying their base in Western region, standing opposite to the team led by Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
Speaking to the press, Mudavadi said the threat of Covid-19 and the damage it can do has now become very clear to all Kenyans, “We want to emphasize that the lives of our people matter….It’s important that we take a step back and call off the public engagements in Western so that there is minimal exposure of Kenyans.”
On his part, Wetangula said leaders need to focus on the challenges facing Kenya, including Covid-19, “We want to apologize to those expecting us this weekend.” He added that the meeting have not been totally called off but they will be rescheduled to another future date.
