Hundreds of Mumbo FM fans turned up in a burial ceremony of Mzee Agustus Situma Wanyama father to Albert Nyongesa of Lugulu Hustlers Mumbo FM salaams club in Misikhu ward Webuye Constituency in Bungoma County.
Canaan Mumbo FM cluster chairperson Fred Wanjala thanked all fans who turned up to condole with one of their own as he urged them to continue with the spirit of togetherness so that they can do other projects to fulfill their development agenda. He however appreciated West Media company for the support and being ever present whenever there is need.
“I would like to thank you for standing with Albert, I know losing a parent is not easy but all of you who sacrificed your time and came to stand with him I urge you to continue with the same spirit as we focus on doing other developmental projects. Let us maintain the unity we have shown here and I believe we shall go far,” stated Wanjala. “I want to appreciate West Media Company too for being here with us, you have shown your love in mourning with us, we pray that you continue standing with us and availing yourselves when we need you”, he added.
These sentiments were echoed by Albert Nyongesa who had lost his dad as he told them to also stand with others during such difficult moment. He added that he never knew that by joining Mumbo FM salaams there could be a time he could be in a situation like the one he was in and the Company together with his fellow fans could gather with him to give him a back to lean on.
“Actually am much grateful for your presence, I never knew that a day like this I will be surrounded by people like you. Indeed it has been an honor and I pray that you stand with another person like you have done with me,” uttered Nyongesa. “Let our unity help us educate our children and involve in projects that will help us curb biting poverty in our households,” he added. Mzee Situma was eulogized as an educationist, advisor and peace maker. He presided over the handshake between CS Devolution Eugene Wamalwa and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula at Mabanga in 2018. He died at the age of 77 as a Chief Advisor in the Bukusu Council of Elders. He was a choice translator for all Quaker Missionaries overseas who came to the Western Region.
