PNU Party leader and chairman of the Council of Governors Peter Munya has expressed his delight after he welcomed defectors from Jubilee. Embu gubernatorial aspirant Kithinji Kiragu is among the defectors and Meru Governor Munya insisted that new members have come from other regions too and not Embu county only, as it was purported.
Munya said he is sure that PNU will grow bigger as a party in Embu region because of the support of leaders. He revealed that they’ve opened party offices in Meru, Isiolo, Laikipia, Nyandarua, Kirinyaga and Kiambu, and they are meant to open a new office in Nakuru, before moving to the Coastal region.
“PNU is a nationwide party and we have candidates vying for all positions except the presidential seat,” he said. He indicated that there are more leaders who will join the party soon.
Kithinji Kiragu indicated that they will support Uhuru Kenyatta as president, adding that he intends to transform Embu county through the party, economically and socially.
