Manchester united new coach Jose Mourinho is not leaving anything to chance in his bid to register excellent results next season.
His new target is to bring on board Villareal and Ivory Coast defender Eric Bertrand Bailly.
The player born in 1994, will join Mourinho’s team for a fee reported to be around €32 million plus 8 million in bonuses.
United are also targeting Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic and have made the initial contacts with Chelsea to have the midfielder link up with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford.
Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic is another player that has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Michael Carrick has agreed a new contract at the club, according to Australian club Perth Glory CEO Peter Filopoulos.
The veteran midfielder’s current contract expires in the summer and he has been approached by Perth over a move to the Australian A-League.
Carrick has a close relationship with Perth captain and former West Ham team-mate Richard Garcia, who was the best man at his wedding, but Filopoulos has conceded the club will not be signing the 34-year-old this summer.
According to widespread reports in the national press, Michael Carrick will sign a new one-year deal at Old Trafford and will form part of new manager Jose Mourinho’s first-team squad.
