The residents of Namwela Ward in Sirisia constituency have vowed to hold peaceful demonstrations to compel the County government of Bungoma to address the water shortage problem in the area.
Speaking in Sibumba village, residents led by Mr. Peter Siromero Lungwanyi accused their area MCA Charles Nangulu for allegedly failing to present their needs in the County Assembly.
He said the state of the roads in Namwela ward is pathetic, adding that most of the feeder roads are impassable especially during this rainy season.
“Our people are suffering in silence, the leaders we trusted and elected have failed to represent us in the assemblies, so we are appealing to our Governor Wycliffe Wangamati to intervene and save us” said Mr. Lungwanyi.
He also said the youths in the region are qualified in different professions but have been side lined by the county government in terms of employment.
“Namwela has so many young professionals who are still depending on their parents due to lack of employment and this is contributing a lot to criminal acts” he said.
