Religious leaders from across Nandi County have called on peace among the residents in the region ahead of August polls.
Speaking in a function in Nandi, the team urged residents to ensure peace prevails before and after the August 9th General Elections affirming to work hand in hand with the security apparatus to maintain peace within the borders.
They asked them not to allow political differences divide them in any way as they are all one family of this nation therefore should uphold peace and cohesion all the time especially during this electioneering period.
“Do not let any political heat or differences divide you at all, we are brothers and sisters in our communities.” They affirmed.
Moreover, they called on political class to exercise political tolerance during their campaigns and more so preach peace for prosperity of the region.
Nandi County is a cosmopolitan region where all the 42 tribes of Kenya hails and is an economical hub area for Agriculture and business thus peace should prevail for the developmental and transformational process.
The County borders the Counties of Uasin Gishu, Kericho, Kisumu, Vihiga and Kakamega.
