Civil societies in Nandi under the umbrella of the Youth Bunge which is an organization that brings together all the youth in the County have resolved to proactively engage with the County government through strengthened participatory processes and structures.
The civil societies through their Youth Bunge president Nicholas Kibet, chair Nandi County civil society Shadrack Tarno and one of the Ogiek community representatives James Ng’ososei while addressing the press, said they have resolved to work together with the new Governor as the outgoing administration didn’t favor them.
They urged the new Governor to convene constituent groups and encourage them to nominate members to the County Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF).
They lauded Governor Stephen Sang for emerging victorious during the recently concluded general elections citing that as a youth organization they look forward to the next five years of great service delivery and development of the County under his able leadership.
They reminded the Governor to observe the need for proper channels of participation which is paramount, convene organized groups and encourage them to nominate representatives to the forum while establishing the CBEF 2017—2022. “As youths, we recognize the need for a better process of establishing the next CBEF 2017—2022,” they said.
