The Nandi County commissioner Mr Olaka Kutswa has raised a red flag over the notorious illicit brew business in the County. Kutswa said the illicit brew menace has become a major challenge facing the security sector in Nandi and that in the past one month, thousands of litres of chang’aa, busaa and kangara have been poured in all the six sub counties in Nandi.
He added that despite efforts by the administration and the security agencies, the menace still persists. He affirmed that they have identified and profiled the notorious brewers and traffickers of brew and that they intend to identify measures to ensure the problem is totally dealt with because making arrests isn’t enough. The notorious areas where illicit brewing is common are Tindiret and Aldai sub-counties
