The Nandi County commissioner’s office has received a total of 9000 face masks from the Office of the President which are meant to be disbursed to boda boda operators and vulnerable groups. This is according to the Nandi County Commissioner Olaka Kutswa who affirmed that the 9,000 face masks will be distributed equally to all the 6 sub-counties across Nandi.
Kutswa cited that the masks will be distributed through the sub-county Coronavirus emergency committee. He said his office together with the County administration in a bid to seal all the loopholes that might make the County vulnerable to Covid-19, have identified bars and illicit drinking dens as the most high risks areas.
On the other hand, Nandi governor Stephen Sang revealed that his administration will issue 12,000 masks that are available to each sub-county to benefit boda boda operators, vendors and those who are working in open and public spaces.
