Nandi County Commissioner Harman Shambi has warned residents against illicit brewing culture in the region saying the culprits will face the wrath of the law.
Speaking during the 59th Jamhuri day celebrations held in Chepterwai, Mosop Sub-County, Shambi noted that the Chiefs have been doing great work in a bid to end the culture of illicit brews but the culprits have refused to end the menace, sending a red alert to them that the law will take its course.
“Our Chiefs and assistant chiefs have put more effort in ending the illicit brewing habit in the region, and I want to caution those still brewing to desist before the hand of the law befalls them.” He affirmed.
He decried high cases of teenage pregnancies among school going girls appealing to all education stakeholders in Nandi to look for a lasting solution for the betterment of the future of a girl child.
The Commissioner cited that majority of girls have dropped out of school due to teenage pregnancies thus calls for a lasting solution which needs all education stakeholders concerted efforts to address the situation.
He asked parents to be close to their children while at home especially during this long holiday of festivities by guiding and directing them on the right paths.
