The county government of Nandi through the health docket received and flagged off the third medical consignment worthy 81 Million to all the 269 health facilities across Nandi.
The Chief executive committee member of health and sanitation docket in Nandi Mrs Ruth Koech said that Nandi has put in place a system that will guarantee constant supply of medical drugs in all public health facilities across Nandi.
She cited that the drugs were bought from the Kenya Medical Supplies Agency(KEMSA) and will be distributed to all the health facilities in the region and as a government has promised to take care of the citizens through stable supply of the drugs.
Concerning the commemoration of World Malaria day held at Chemase region in Tindiret constituency, Koech revealed that Malaria prevalence in Nandi stands at 4‰ thus will ensure there is plenty of Malaria drugs in health facilities.
She cited, that as a government they’ve decided to celebrate the world malaria day in Chemase because it is an area with high prevalence of Malaria standing at 6 ‰ (Tindiret and Aldai) constituencies.
The CEC encouraged residents to use treated mosquito nets especially those in Malaria high prone areas for their safety.
“We have been distributing free mosquito nets to the residents and as a government will continue with the spirit to ensure the safety of our citizens in Nandi” She said.
The CEC also confirmed that his Ministry is working on the preventive and pro-motive health to treat patients when they are sick being away of transforming Nandi.
