The county government of Nandi has concluded the establishment of ICU beds in health facilities in the County in a bid to enhance Covid-19 preparedness. Nandi Governor Stephen Sang affirmed the completion saying there are 7 ICU beds at the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital and 3 at Nandi hills sub-county hospital ready for use. “The County through the department of health and sanitation has also procured another 5 ICU beds which will be ready and available in one months time,” Sang said.
The Governor affirmed that Nandi has met the requirement of 300 Covid-19 isolation beds as directed by the national government. “We have a total of 312 isolation beds across the health facilities in the County in readiness to handle Covid-19 cases,” he said. The County boss has asked the residents of Nandi and all Kenyans to continue observing the directives from the Ministry of Health aimed at ensuring the spread of the Coronavirus is contained.
