Nandi County loses top county official due to Covid-19

The county government of Nandi is again in mourning following the untimely death of the acting county public service board secretary Ms Truphena Kobiro who succumbed to Covid-19 complications on Tuesday.

The late Truphena is the second county employee in Nandi to succumb to Covid-19 pandemic after one of the staff in the county public service board who was passed on a month ago.

Nandi governor Stephen Sang broke the sad news in his social media post saying the county government of Nandi had lost a great and dedicated servant who had made tremendous transformations in the public service board sector.

The part of his post read, “It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing on of Ms Truphena Kobiro who until her demise was working at Nandi county public service Board as the acting CEO. We have lost a very resourceful, dedicated and hardworking servant” read the post.

The late Kobiro first served as the chief of staff in governor Sang’s government before she was appointed as the acting secretary for the county public service board where she has been serving until her demise.

Burial plans are underway in her home at Kapng’etich village in Chesumei constituency Nandi County whereby she will be laid to rest on Friday.

The deceased has left behind two children.

Leaders across Nandi led by governor Stephen Sang have sent their messages of condolence to the children, family, friends and the entire community of Kapng’etich for the loss.
