Nandi County is celebrating after a school in the County produced the second best student nationally in the KCPE exams. June Cheptoo Koech, from Sang’alo Central Primary School scored 439 out 500 marks and tied with two other students in second position.
The 13-year-old is the best candidate in the County, an improvement from the County’s top candidate last year who scored 436 marks. Speaking to West Media at the school, the KNUT County official Mr. Josphat Serem lauded the efforts of parents, teachers and candidates of Sang’alo Central Primary School.
He said that the school fraternity worked together as a team and that is how they managed to produce the top candidate. He said three other candidates also scored above 400 marks according to results at the time-4242 and 416 marks. The school managed to get a mean score of 385 marks.
