Nandi County is set to host the International Anti-Corruption Day on 9th December 2020. Speaking during the launch of preparations in Kapsabet, EACC vice chair Sophia Lepuchirit said the commission has put in measures to deal with the possible surge of corruption during the Covid-19 pandemic period, “The Commission has put up measures to mitigate the risks of mismanagement of public resources and corruption in response to the pandemic”
Lepuchirit said the commission so far has managed to return stolen public resources from different parts of the country and is investigating Covid-19 billions mismanaged in the Counties. The launched activities ahead of the event include the sensitization of the public on effects of corruption, the fight against the vice and raising of public awareness and strategies in rallying both the County and national governments in the fight against corruption. On the other hand, Nandi deputy Governor Dr. Yulita Cheruiyot said the County administration will partner with the EACC in the fight against corruption, and urged members of the public to seek services free of any graft dealings.
