Nandi deputy Governor Dr Yulita Cheruiyot has revealed that the County administration has identified a safe haven for gender based violence (GBV) at the Kapsisiywo health care center and renovations are ongoing. Cheruiyot said they have moved with speed to secure a safe space following increased cases of GBV. She said upon completion, the facility will provide psychosocial and psychological support for the victims.
She said there is a need for Nandi residents to be sensitized on the effects of gender based violence. The deputy governor was speaking during a 2-day visit to various sites in Nandi by Makueni County government top officials led by the Makueni deputy governor Adelina Mwau.
