The County government of Nandi has embarked on distribution of hand sanitizers and face masks to the business community. Speaking at the Kapsabet County Referral Hospital where he led the distribution exercise, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang said his administration is working hard to ensure the County is safe from the Covid-19 virus. He distributed over 10,000 hand sanitizers, face masks to boda boda operators, Matatu saccos, market vendors, health staff, law enforcers among others.
He lauded the national government’s decision to ban the movement of people in and out of Counties designated as high risk areas to stop the spread of the disease. The order of cessation of movement in the Nairobi Metropolitan Area commenced on Monday 6th April at 7:00 pm while the order will take effect in Mombasa, Kwale and Kilifi Counties from Wednesday.
The Nandi Governor has urged Nandi residents to wear masks when in public places, heed the directive to observe social distancing and regularly wash their hands with soap and water.
