The Nandi County government in partnership with the Bethany Kids Foundation and Partners for care have given assistive devices to people living with disabilities (PWDs) in Nandi County, devices which include wheelchairs and mobility carts. Speaking during the second batch issuance of the assistive devices at Kapsabet County referral hospital, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang thanked the partners for honoring and heeding to the needs of the vulnerable.
He added that his administration, apart from giving out assistive devices, is also empowering these people by enabling them to venture into income generating activities like setting up and managing saloons. The County government gave out mobility carts and wheelchairs to more than fifty people who are abled differently from across Nandi.
Sang asked those abled differently and have not registered to do so, so as to benefit from the programme saying no one will be left out as his administration is working closely with partners to ensure PWDs’ needs are catered for.
