The Ministry of Education in Nandi County through the County Education Board is set to set up a mixed day secondary school in Kiptuiya ward, Chesumei constituency to facilitate the national government’s 100% transition to secondary schools target.

Speaking to West FM, Chesumei sub-county Director of Education Mr. David Mwandihi said the plans are at an advanced stage and the Education Ministry has sent forth public health and quality assurance officers to the site to prepare a report.

Mwandihi confirmed that the school will be set up on a three and half-acre piece of land next to Siksiket primary school in Kapchorwa sub-location Kiptuiya ward and that plans are underway. He affirmed that everything is in order and if things advance well the school will be ready by mid January. Kiptuiya ward has only three public secondary schools.
